Rehab x2

Had two great rehab sessions today. First one for my shoulder with some yoga, shoulder/back exercises and stretch, then some mobility, foamrolling and more stretch for my foot. I finally got an appointment with the doctor on Monday so I really hope he will give me some good news. Hopefully I can start slowly on the court and play a little next week! But we will see, I’m just so excited, I want to play now! But need to be patient! :)

Green Smoothie with a Twist

Made a green smoothie again as part of my Friday breakfast, felt like my body needed the right energy and nutrients today so I am really going to take care and think about what I eat today to fuel my soul and body in the best way possible! I used the same green smoothie recipe as last time, but I made some small changes to mix it up a little. This one was just as good and actually a little more healthy I would say because I added ginger, which is very rich in nutrients and good for example to prevent inflammation. I wrote a blog post about foods that are good to prevent and heal inflammations a while ago and you can read it HERE. For breakfast today I also boiled two eggs and had one of my raw bliss balls I made yesterday, they are so good! Felt a little bad because it taste like eating candy for breakfast haha, but I know they are healthy and with only natural ingredients! Here is the recipe for the smoothie I made this morning:

2 dl almond milk

1/2 dl quark (I used Fage)

2 handfuls of spinach

1 pealed and chopped green apple

1 pealed and chopped kiwi

1/2 cm of pealed ginger

1 scoop of Perfect Food Raw Green Powder (<- I wrote a blog post about this green powder recently as well)

1/2 scoop of Fitnessguru OneWhey Kiwi Yoghurt

->Just put it all in a mixer and mix until smooth and then enjoy your green healthy drink!

Raw bliss balls

Just made these simple raw food bliss balls with only 4 ingredients! I had a bunch of dates that I needed to do something with and I actually came up with this recipe myself, even though I know there are many similar recipes for bliss balls out there. These are super healthy and the best way to stop your candy/sweets cravings! They are all natural, gluten free, sugar free and high in protein and it literally only takes 5 minutes to make them! For about 6 medium sized balls you need:

12 soft raw dates

1 tablespoon raw cacao

1/2 scoop of Fitnessguru vanilla white chocolate protein powder

1 tablespoon hemp seeds

->Mix all the ingredients with a stick blender, roll into balls and then roll the balls in topping of choice (I used sesame seeds for half of them and hemp seeds for the other half). Put them in the fridge for about 15 minutes and then they’re ready to eat (they taste delicious if you eat them before having them in the fridge as well… I know haha).

Compression Socks

Yesterday I finally got my pair of compression socks that I ordered last week. I’m willing to do almost anything to be able to play tennis and run again and I read a lot about compression socks and they have a lot of benefits when it comes to prevent injuries and improve recovery. Therefore I ordered these I found at Gearup Actice for a good price! They are black and I took the size S/M and they fit perfectly (I am normally a size 39-40 in European size and 8.5-9.5 in women’s US size). These compression socks are suppose to improve the blood flow, which will result in better and more consistent performance with less fatigue, and faster recovery. It also provides support for critical muscles and tendons helping to reduce inflammation and soreness, which is the main reason to why I’m going to start using them during any activity (biking, weights, and later when I start increasing my activity level with some running, elliptical and tennis). I will keep you all updated how I think they are when I have used them I couple of times, but they feel very comfortable to wear!

Perfect Food Raw – Green Powder

I have a mum who always want me to drink these green drinks and add spirulina and other healthy “greens” in my smoothies and food, but I have not been a big fan of it at all. I have tried to mix green powders and spirulina in drinks in different way but never liked the taste. Therefore I am so happy that I finally found a green powder that actually taste good! I have done a few different smoothie drinks with it so far and they all have been tasty! I was really in doubt before buying this green powder because of my past experiences and because it is kind off expensive, but I’m so happy I did! It was the green powder Perfect Food Raw I bought the other day at Natural Grocers. I know they are available at iHerb as well, and actually a little cheaper. Backattack

I had a rest day yesterday so I really looked forward to today’s back workout! It is so great when you feel stronger and have so much energy. A little thanks to the Fitnessguru OneAmino I wrote about in the blog post before this one. I really believes it helps both with increasing you energy level as well as speeding up the recovery and increasing the muscle growth!

Is that some biceps muscles growing? 🙈😄 I’m wearing my energy bracelets from Good Balance, you can still use the code “sofiahager” and get 10% off any bracelet! I love all three of mine (wearing two on the picture)!
