Taco meat sauce + mashed potatoes

My mum made an old favorite dish for dinner today that my grandma used to make. It’s a little special mix of meat sauce with taco flavor and mashed potatoes put together and then in the oven to give it the nice brown burned look!

I also prefer having peas or corn on the side to this dish.

This is what you need for 4-5 portions:

For the mashed potatoes:

  • 8-10 potatoes
  • 1 cup soy-milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Muskot, pepper & salt

For the meat sauce:

  • 600g beef
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 big onion
  • 1 bag taco spice
  • Chili sauce / tomato pure
  • Chili, cumin, pepper
  • 1/2 can diced tomatoes

-> Make the mashed potatoes and then the meat sauce as normal. Place out the mashed potatoes in a circle in a oven-safe tray and then put the meat sauce in the middle. Put in the oven on 230 C on broil for about 12-13 minutes until the mashed potatoes get a nice color!

Serve with peas and corn and a fresh salad!
