Why haven’t I tried to make my own homemade peanut-butter before? Since I’m like the biggest nut-butter fan that exist I’m surprised I haven’t tried this before since it was so easy and tasted so good! I got so many ideas on how to vary the flavors of this peanut-butter while I made it, but I didn’t have enough peanuts at home to make another jar. This one ended up having a pretty natural peanut-butter flavor with a touch of caramel from the maca powder.
Homemade Peanut-butter (1 jar)
- 3 dl natural peanuts
- 3 drops Flavdrops with peanut-butter flavor from MyProtein
- 1 teaspoon maca powder from Alivefoods
- 2 teaspoons water
- (some sea salt if you’d like)
-> Start by turning the oven on 200 degrees C and roast the peanuts for about 15 minutes until they start to get light brown. Take them out at let cool a little. Then put in a mixer/food processor and start blending. This will take a while so be patient! First it will become like a nut flour, but keep mixing until the nuts let out oil to make it creamy. I think I mixed for almost 10 minutes total with small breaks in between to, with help of a spoon, push down the peanut pieces from the side of the mixer. When it starts to get oily, add the rest of the ingredients and mix until your desired creaminess. You can decide if you want it a little more crunchy or even add some chopped peanuts afterwards for more crunchiness. Store in a jar with a lid in the fridge.
