A recipe from this weekend. The healthier alternative to normal waffles, and both I and Erika (who prefer eating sugary foods rather than healthier alternativs hehe) really liked these ones!
White Chocolate Protein Waffles (1 portion = 6 waffles)
- 1 banana, mashed
- 2 dl gluten free oats
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 scoop protein powder white chocolate
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder from Alivefoods
- 2 dl coconut milk
- a sprinkle of salt
- coconut oil for the waffle iron
-> Start by mixing the oats to flour. Then mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Let stand for 5 minutes. Spread some coconut oil on the heated waffle iron before pouring over the dough. Fry 6 nice waffles, you can choose yourself if you want them crispier of softer.
Our toppings this time was:
This recipe is so good because you can choose the flavor of your waffles. Just use the protein powder with the flavor you like. Or if you want to make it without protein powder and maybe paleo-friendly, use almond flour instead of oats and cinnamon and cardamom in the dough instead of protein powder. It tasted just as amazing!
This original recipe is 100% gluten free, dairy free, and free from added sugar. Just be aware of what protein powder you use and what it includes!
